Looking for a more than competitive base with top notch benefits?Our client, a global leader in creating enterprise software is seeking a talented and motivated Manager for their brand new Production Support Team, which will be responsible for supporting all internal and customer-facing development production initiatives to fulfill end-user requirements and service agreements. The team will be interacting with both external customers to determine needs as well as internal teams within the company, such as development, customer/technical support, operations, and quality assurance. This is an opportunity to lead a brand new team and spearhead this new initiative within a rapidly growing company. Our client has experienced a rapid growth over the last few years and currently has more work than they have people. All development takes place on site at the company's downtown Calgary based headquarters. Key Responsibilities:- Lead the Production Support Team in ongoing production application support- Work closely with internal development teams as well as external end-users to ensure that all new productions are operating without faults - Coordinate production support initiatives between all stakeholders- Provide feedback to business partners to improve processes throughout the organization- Manage, organize, and drive resolution for incidents and tickets- Work closely with the testing team to troubleshoot and address production issues.- Diagnose and debug software incidents- Introduce automation protocols for common support requestsWe are looking for an individual with the following key skills:The Manager role is a hands-on technical position, and, therefore, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, system administration, or database administration, preferably with experience performing production/application support in an enterprise software environment. Since you will be managing the team, you must be able to manage multiple simultaneous projects/request as well as identify improvements that will reduce error rates/risks in the system. The right candidate will have hands-on experience in the following areas:- Oracle P-SQL - Scripting languages - Data manipulation and verification - Problem solving and troubleshooting - Java/J2EE and related technologies is an asset- Linux and/or Oracle Administration is an assetThe right candidate will also bring strong problem solving skills and be able to creatively solve problems as they arise.
