For our client, Vancouver based clean fuel systems and engine technology company, we are looking for an Automotive Project Manager (Product Development). The Project Manager - Product Development will develop and manage plans for: schedules, budgets and resource allocation for our engineering development projects. The project environment is fast paced and requires active change management.Position Responsibilities• Detailed schedule preparation for a complex work scope and managing the schedule and tasks as well as budget allocation from concept through to customer release• Developing and maintaining project documentation, such as work packages, budget reports, schedule and reporting on project status including scorecard performance• Ensuring coordination and linkage between sub-project plans• Ensuring coordination and linkage between programs• Performing a labour supply and demand analysis for the project highlighting any discrepancies• Reconciling weekly timesheets of all projects and monitor actual vs. estimated time spent on all projects ensuring accuracy and recovery of hours• Ensuring that relevant cost, schedule, and technical performance metrics are established at all levels in the project• Administering risk management and initiating proactive mitigation strategies• Problem solving for general and technical issues• Approval and reconciliation of PO's• Building and presenting the case for capital investments• Planning and leading project team meetings• Determine when to escalate issuesPosition Requirements• Have a minimum of 7 years of product development and project management• Have experience in commercializing new industrial or automotive technologies• Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills• Have proactive planning capabilities along with creative, solutions oriented approaches to problem solving• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills• Be a team player• P.Eng. and/or PMP is a definite asset
