We are located in the heart of Vancouver. About the Position PCIS is looking for an industry proven, self-motivated individual to join our team. The successful candidate will be someone with a track-record of success and hard work, and who has demonstrated they can work collaboratively and adapt to changing technologies quickly. Responsibilities for this position include: Develop client relationships through collaboration and understanding their technical requirements. Work with our clients as Liason between our development team on applications architecture which reflect business processes for their line of business. Conduct reviews and analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of applications. . Provide a leadership role in mapping the applications architecture to the chosen technology platform. Define application components, platforms, interfaces, and development tools. . Provide technical guidance to application development teams. Consults on integration and conversion activities. Recommends redesign or redevelopment. Selects technologies to provide long-term compatibility and flexibility. . Conduct reviews and analysis of business needs and goals for the development and implementation of applications and related infrastructure requirements. Requirements: . Computer Sciences BSc education and or related Application Development Experience .Consulting--Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques and roles and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients within and outside own area. . Presentations--Ability to present information to groups with the appropriate degree of formality. . Decision Making and Critical Thinking--Knowledge of tools and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks and perspectives when solving problems. . Creativity--Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for promoting creative, original thinking and applying it to existing and emerging situations. .Nice to have would be knowledge of Sharepoint capabilities and limitations Work Experience: . Planning: Tactical, Strategic--Ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1 - 2 years) and strategic (3 - 5 years) planning in support of the business plan. . Interpersonal Relationships--Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for working with individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner JOB COMPLEXITIES/CHALLENGES: . Analyzing project and/or technical risk, using available information, to support business recommendations. . Analyzing business and/ or client processes and practices to identify and recommend opportunities for enhancement. . Analyzing business plans with a view of longer-term strategy to identify and recommend opportunities for enhancement ensuring alignment. . Providing application solutions or making technology selection decisions that are often made in situations where business requirements are not completely defined or changing. . Assessing the impact of the client's technology initiatives and procedures and making adjustments to internal operations as necessary to improve productivity. . Determining the feasibility of new products / systems . Meeting the computing needs of an assigned business units, including assessment and selection of technology and development of new/modified applications, as business needs change. . Making judgements regarding the ongoing viability of a project plan based on ability to deliver upon agreed functionality within approved budget and schedule. . Making judgement regarding the viability and fit of a technology solution. Inappropriate judgement may result in moderate to significant financial loss in some portfolios.
