Job Description: You are a highly respected technical expert who knows how to build Enterprise solutions. Your primary goal is to deliver quality working software. As part of our team you'll be involved in developing Enterprise level workforce management software used to support Tier 1 companies. Our product is used in the field, the back office and dispatch centre to increase productivity and efficiency for our customers. You'll work with a cross discipline team using an agile development methodology that requires active participation in selecting team tasks and taking responsibility for meeting target dates. As part of a scrum team, you'll collaborate with industry experienced peers throughout the development process and have a chance to grow as a developer in an environment that welcomes innovation and rewards your ability to get the job done. Primary Responsibilities: • Develop, re-factor, maintain and tune software with schedule, quality and performance in mind. • Be a subject matter expert on at least one subsystem and contribute to the architectural and development direction. • Lead, plan and deliver special projects to fulfill specific objectives. • Review requirements, design and code. Mentor developers at various levels (junior, intermediate) to improve their skills and capabilities. • Advise internal and external customers on support issues of our products. • Take initiative to pursue issue resolution and suggest ideas and improvements. • Collaborate within your team which is a mix of testers and developers and contribute to the full range of software deliverables (design, implementation, testing, and documentation) as part of an agile development team. QualificationsQualifications: • You have minimum 7 years of software development experience • You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering; or equivalent with relevant work experience. • You understand why customers are using our products. • You have built complex software with high quality and with optimized design. • You are an expert using a variety of design and programming tools. • You make use of best practices and so do your team members. • You are result-oriented and have a strong bias for action. • You have led your team to deliver quality software on time. • You have minimum of 5 years of working experience in developing Unix/LINUX-based applications. • You are proficient in C++ and JEE (BEA Weblogic Server). Other Skills and Abilities: • Extensive working experience in development of multi-tier software systems with Oracle as the database tier. • Working knowledge of Web Services development, SQL, XSLT, XML, OO Design, Configuration Management. • Working knowledge of the following an asset: MS Windows development, Visual Studio .NET, CORBA, PERL, UML and ClearCase/ClearQuest. • Familiarity with agile development practices. • Committed to knowledge sharing and improving existing development processes. • Verbal and written English communication is professional, clear and understood by others the first time, able to adjust style according to situation
