The Opportunity•The Information Technologies and Services (ITS) department at The Banff Centre is looking for a creative and innovative information systems leader who enjoys working in a dynamic work environment.•Reporting to the Vice-President CFO, this position is accountable for the oversight, planning, direction and management of all activities and operations of the ITS department.Responsibilities•Assess and apply information technologies within the various businesses and program units of The Banff Centre•Ensures IT investments are aligned with the strategic plan, goals and objectives•Project Management including initiation, scheduling, resources, planning, execution, control, reporting, documentation, system integration and transition-to-production•Recruitment, training, performance management and career development of ITS staff•Negotiate and manage systems and services contracts•Ensure compliance with appropriate governance policies such as audit, data use, security and FOIP•Design, build and maintain infrastructure for the use of information technology•Develop and monitor an annual business plan and operating budget for the department•Identify and address training needs presented by the introduction and the use of information technology at The Banff Centre in conjunction with Human Resources and training professionals•Manage relationships with key project stakeholders and clients across campus and represent The Banff Centre at off-campus forums and with professional associations directly related to computing and networking•Assist in the planning of new facilities construction and renovation of existing facilities as it relates to ITS requirements•Direct the preparation and implementation of policies, procedures and standards relating to information and telecommunications systems•Stay current with industry trends and recommend any desirable hardware and software upgrades for The Banff CentreThe Ideal Candidate•A degree in computer science, business administration or a related field •Has over 5 years' experience in a similar role preferably in a post-secondary institution•Project leader with a history of successful projects•Superior knowledge of information systems and business processes and technical excellence•Experience managing multiple IT disciplines i.e. software development, technical support, system architecture •Experience in a non-profit environment would be an asset•Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills•Superior leader, with advanced communication and team management skills•Creative and innovative•Experience negotiating and managing third party vendors/contractorsSpecial Requirements•Candidates offered a position with the Centre, in this capacity, will be required to obtain a criminal record check through the local R.C.M.P. detachment, verifying a clear record before a final job offer can be made.
