The successful candidate for this position will join a dynamic team developing and supporting communications hardware products for high volume mass production. The position requires an experienced electrical/electronics engineer with proven abilities in electronics design. Job functions include design, development, architecture definition, test, problem diagnosis and resolution, and factory support. Candidate is expected to support the full product lifecycle. Additional responsibilities include the ongoing support of existing products, investigating problems and driving to solutions.Has depth of expertise in more than one area and shares expertise with colleagues. Acts as a lead contributor individually, and as a team member. Must be effective without supervision and act proactively. Work is performed with minimal direction. Typically requires 5 - 8 years experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Must be able to operate effectively in diverse cross-functional teams. May coordinate activities of others and/or a team.Required areas of expertise include:• Electronics design and analysis skills• Ethernet interfaces - 10/100/1000Base-TX• Embedded Systems on a Chip (ARM, Flash, DDR)• Analog electronics design • Embedded-system power design, working knowledge of DC/DC converters• PCB layout related skills and standard design and simulation tools i.e. Cadence• EMI, EMC, Susceptibility• Some knowledge of electronics packaging & thermal considerations• Reliability estimation/calculations• Design for Manufacturing, Environment, Test• It is desirable to have some experience working with Contract Manufacturers and Original Design Manufacturers • Manufacturing processes, production testing etc• General knowledge of software for embedded systems including C++, VxWorks, Linux and Android
