Position Overview: Our large pharmaceutical client is searching for an IT Director - Sales & Marketing Solutions, who will be responsible for the strategy, design, deployment and support of all technology solutions that enable the Sales and Marketing business functions and associated processes, while also assuming responsibility for all Canadian Business Intelligence offerings across the company. This individual will work closely with senior management in the aforementioned functional areas in order to identify, recommend and develop cost-effective technology solutions that deliver insights, enable complex decision-making and support enhanced business performance. The incumbent is also responsible for setting and negotiating project priorities that meet business objectives. In working with his/her direct reports, the incumbent converts strategic plans and projects to assignments for the team.Position Requirements This role has overall responsibility for the enablement (through technology) of the followingbusiness processes in the Company:Sales Solutions: • Translates the overall Sales Strategy and priorities into comprehensive technology-based business tools that improve efficiency for both the Retail and Professional Sales organizations. This includes but is not limited to Trade Promotion Management (TPM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Sales Forecasting, Allocations, and Sales Reporting. These solutions are vetted through a global lens to ensure appropriate alignment.Marketing (GBU) Solutions: • Translates the overall Marketing strategy and priorities into comprehensive technology-based business tools. • Provide the overall leadership for usage and opportunities for consumer engagement with current and emerging media/digital channels like social networking sites, mobile, social media, search and e-commerce etc.Functional Partnership: • Ensures that Information Technology is a key enabler to growth, supporting the Sales and Marketing departments in achieving their business goals in order to attain maximum efficiency and effectiveness. IT and Functional Strategic Planning:• Conceptualizes, evaluates, and implements Information Technology strategies, plans, related budgets and priorities for a comprehensive Sales and Marketing Information Technology program in alignment/partnership with the other global/regional IT organizations..IT and Functional Standard Processes and Procedures:• Establishes (if required) and deploys standards and procedures for Information Technology in alignment with the global/regional IT organizations' standards and procedures. Program and Project Management:• Define (scope) and implement project plans in accordance with the Sales and Marketing needs as early as feasibility activities, through proposal scoping and funding, project start up, execution and completion. This role will cover the entire life cycle. Technology Operations Support and Continuous Improvement:• Monitor and improve the technology solutions that support the Sales and Marketing operations. This is done to ensure minimal disruption to the Sales and Marketing business processes while maximizing their efficiencies. Team & People Development:• Coaches and manages members of the team to achieve high quality results. This is done in order to manage performance and achieving maximum results from the team that will ultimately create business value for the company. This is done by applying standard Leadership and Management techniques and creating a high-performance and satisfying work environment for the team members.Education / Qualifications: • 4-year Bachelor's degree in an Information Systems related program (i.e. Computer Sciences,Engineering, Management Information Systems). MBA or Graduate studies an asset.• Minimum of 10 years in the Information Technology fields, including supervisor and teammanagement roles (5+ years). A broad and deep knowledge of the Sales and Marketing functionsat a strategic level gained through progressive experience.• Experienced in leading digital strategies in Mobile, Social Media, Search, and Brand Website, e-commerce and Digital Asset Management.• Superior depth of knowledge/experience in business and on complex Sales and Marketingprocesses including Brand Planning, Consumer Communications/ Touch Points, Online Direct toConsumer Selling, Pricing, Distribution, Forecasting, Trade Promotion, Allocations, Prepacks.• An individual who focuses first on the business and who leverages IT as enabler of growth,competitive advantage, and who adds value to business performance. This individual will havestrong knowledge in leveraging emerging and existing technologies in connecting with theconsumer. This individual will bring a balanced blend of strategic thought leadership combined with hands on execution.• Broad knowledge/experience of technology and technology architecture -- with specific focus onTrade Promotion Management (TPM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), EnterpriseResource Planning (ERP), Consumer Insights, 3rd Party Data, and Business IntelligenceApplications (BI). Superior understanding of the digital space, including emerging technologies inthis area that are best practice and leading edge in communicating direct to the consumer,including consumer advertising and direct to consumer online shopping.• Strong knowledge and experience in Project and Portfolio Management, including Project/Program finance (estimation, costing and budget management), business case development (Return On Investment and Net Present Value calculations), and in general the project knowledge areas: integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk and procurementmanagement. PMP Certification an asset.• Superior knowledge of best practice IT solutions/software and emerging technologies in terms ofCRM applications i.e. Oracle/ Siebel CRM Software and Trade Promotion Management (TPM)software aligned to a Tier 1, “best practice” Consumer Packaged Goods environment i.e. Oracle,SAP, CAS.• Proven track of managing cross-functional teams achieving success in complex and medium andlarge-scale business initiatives.We thank all applicants for their interest; however only those individuals whose skills closely match the position requirements will be contacted.
