Position Title: Information Technology Senior Program ManagerEmployment Status: Full Time Location: Calgary, Alberta Closing Date: Jul 17 2011 SummaryAltaLink is proactively looking for a qualified Information Technology Project Delivery Manager. This position will support AltaLink's growth strategy and be a part of the Information Technology Department. The primary focus will be to manage the overall delivery of quality multiple capital Information Technology projects which result in a program delivery within cost, schedule and budget. This is a full time positions based in Calgary, Alberta and will report to the Information Technology Portfolio Manager.Responsibilities• Accountable for successful delivery of all projects identified within the IT program.• In coordination with Portfolio Manager, accountable for team performance and setting of expectations for project delivery.• In coordination with Portfolio Manager, participate in recruitment and disciplinary action as required.• Effectively manages and reports to stakeholders on project delivery (cost, schedule, risks, issues, etc.) of multi-million & IT Capital program projects.• Assigns Project Managers to projects in accordance with IT portfolio priorities. • Supports Project Managers during project initiation, developing detailed project cost estimates, schedule and budgets. • Assists Project Managers in acquiring project resources in accordance with project plans.• Provides on-going delivery management and direction to Project Managers.• Responsible for delivery of quality projects within approved scope, schedule and budge in alignment with PMO direction.• Approves Project Charters and Change Requests within allocated program budgets.• Attends project committee meetings as required.• Design develop, and implement standardized project management delivery practices. • Ensures proven project management practices and processes are implemented and being adhered to during project delivery.• Performs quality assurance and status reviews during project execution.• Oversees assignment and allocation of shared resources and resolves issues with Resource Managers. • Ensure projects are completed and closed in accordance with defined IT processes.QualificationsQualifications • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Ability to facilitate cross-team communication and relationships.• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.• Strong Leadership capability.• Strong team player.• Comfortable working in a dynamic changing environment.Education & Experience:• Minimum 10 years work experience in Project Management.• Project Management Certification would be an asset.• Experience in managing successful delivery of a Program of projects (multiple projects) and/or large complex projects.• 5+ years experience managing senior IT professionals.• Experience in project cost control and schedule/critical path analysis• Experience in the electrical utility field would be an asset.Interested applicants can submit their resume and cover letter to http://www.altalink.ca by Jul 17 2011.
