Job Responsibilities A· Design and maintain storyboards and mockups to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas A· Write user interface specifications to describe functionality and use case scenariosA· Develop interactive prototypes with compelling user experiences A· Design interactive solutions that address business and brand requirements, technical constraints, research findings, and the audience's processes, tasks and goals.A· Work with developers to ensure that designs can be implemented and to ensure integrity during implementationA· Assist in the creation of graphic elements; Slice, optimize and incorporate into our web and desktop applicationsA· Research competitors, latest tools, methodologies, practices and trends Qualifications A· Can demonstrate -- through a portfolio -- strong understanding of user centered design and demonstrated success in application designA· Strong usability/human factors skills and experience practicing user centered design methodologyA· Undergraduate Degree, Community College Diploma or Post-Graduate diploma with related areas of study OR equivalent experienceA· 3+ years of related industry experience A· Strong knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and FlashA· Strong knowledge of standards-compliant HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX and jQueryA· Strong understanding of graphic design principalsA· Experience with MS Visio, Silverlight / Microsoft Expression Blend is an assetA· Experience in the financial industry and stock trading is an assetATTRIBUTES:A· Ability to pay close attention to detail and a passion for improving designA· Communicates effectively with internal team members and other staffA· Critical and creative thinking ability to proactively and independently solve problems and make decisionsA· Thrives in a changing, dynamic environment; strong ability to multitask A· Able to work flexible hours when requested A· Loves to learn and has a strong commitment to improving creative and technical skills on an ongoing basisNOTE: an online portfolio is required in order to be considered for this position.
