FTS has an outstanding opportunity for a high-energy lead software developer for our Windows Embedded applications software. The ideal candidate will be a highly competent software developer and team leader with a minimum of 10 years experience in Windows based software development. Your salary will be commensurate with the experience you bring.Duties and Responsibilities:• Provide hands-on technical and team leadership to a small focused team in the development and enhancement of Windows embedded environmental monitoring applications.• Lead and manage continuous improvement of our software development process. • Develop and manage to project milestone plans and estimates.• Establish release schedule and keep the team on track to meet it.• Work with end users and end user representatives to define and communicate requirements. Qualifications:• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering.• A minimum of 5 years experience using Visual Studio, C# programming language and .net compact framework.• A minimum of 4 years experience developing windows applications for Windows CE embedded targets.• A minimum of 5 years working on a development team using an Agile process with at least 3 years at a leadership or Scrum Master level.Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Experience:• Previous experience architecting Windows CE embedded application solutions.• Excellent technical knowledge in Windows based software development for desktop and embedded applications.• Excellent communication, interpersonal and team leadership skills. • At least 5 years experience analyzing end user needs and translating their requirements into a design specification that meet those needs.• Ability to work in a dynamic team environment managing multiple projects and provide leadership to get the best from team members.• Unit testing and software QA.• Continuous integration practices.Desirable Knowledge, Abilities, and Experience:• Familiarity with database design and data access practices.• Serial RS232 communications.• Use of protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes, DMMs and other test equipment for embedded software development.• Use of JTAG or USB for debugging code on embedded targets.• Familiarity with USB protocols including device enumeration, writing drivers and device side software.• Experience with ARM micro-processors.
