We currently have an opening for an experienced Linux systems administrator. The position requires responsibility, leadership and initiative, and you must be able to work with a small but close knit team of developers and designers.You love Linux and have many years experience at the command-line and playing with configuration options. You're an open-source aficionado, well versed in the LAMP stack. More specifically, you'll need to know how to install/configure Linux distributions (primarily Ubuntu/Debian, but may be called upon to do others), MySQL, Apache, cron, SMTP, DNS, bash, SSH and other typical Linux-y type things. Basic PHP knowledge is an asset. If you love Linux at home, you may be the right candidate for us.We love the cloud and deploy primarily in Amazon AWS cloud, but also use the Rackspace Cloud, and have played around with the IBM Cloud. Knowledge of using cloud-based services would be an assets, but certainly not required. Traditional administrator duties carry over virtually untouched to the cloud.If you are a PHP programmer well versed in Object Oriented PHP, that is a big bonus, with possibilities to do both.Requirements: * 3 years minimum as a Linux systems administrator * Experience with configuration of MySQL, Apache, ssh, cron, SMTP (mail servers), DNS, shell programming, etc. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal * Ability to work under pressure meet deadlines * Ability to listen, interpret and thrive off of feedback * Knowledge of Nagios, Puppet, Capistrano and Hudson would be useful
