Microstrategy Developer Job Description The GuestLogix Product department is looking for a professional to architect and support its analytical and reporting framework. In this role, you will be building an analytical layer against a large volume of data coming from different data sources. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of technical and functional designs for Database, Data Warehousing, Reporting, and Data Mining areas. This job plays a key role in data/web analytics platform development/support, projects, and systems design and development. Job Responsibilities • Design and Administer BI Infrastructure for the On Touch Analytics platform. • Ensure high performance and availability of BI infrastructure using CPU, memory, storage, caching, etc. efficiently • Use latest technologies and facilitate plans to incorporate new features in the overall product • Be involved in full lifecycle development and implementation enterprise data warehouse, BI reporting and analytical services• Design, develop and implement BI systems enabling non-technical users to leverage data for strategic decision-making. • Resolve user-identified functional and technical issues relating to Data Mart and reporting services. • Establish efficient design and programming patterns for engineers as well as for non-technical peoples. Skills • At least 3-4 years of Micro Strategy Server administration, and implementation experience (Intelligent Server, Web Server). • At least 3-4 years of intensive experience in the analysis, design implementation and support of complex applications and/or BI solutions • Experience working on Micro Strategy portal integration is required. • Proficiency with Dashboards, Intelligent cubes, reporting data models, security/access controls, integration, scalability/tuning, quality assurance and configuration management • Strong hands-on data warehousing experience with BI concepts and tools such as Teradata, Hyperion, Business Objects, Micro Strategy and SAS • Experience tuning data models, metadata, cubes, drill down reports and alerts• Strong SQL programming skills & relational database knowledge • SQL experience must include the ability to write, analyze, and debug queries. • Ability to work in a team environment and/or independently• Strong communication and documentation skills). Retail industry experience, data modeling, and ETL (SSIS) skills is considered an asset.
