By location... - Tech jobs in Montreal, QC - Tech jobs in Quebec - Network Administrator jobs in Quebec - telecommute jobs By category... - Network Administrator jobs The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining and managing the internal company network.  The job responsibilities consist of network troubleshooting and remediation, redesign, implementation and documentation to continuously enhance the corporate network.   Skills required:- Initiative, works well with little supervision;- Good verbal and written communication skills;- Proven problem solving and analytical skills;- Knowledge of Windows OS such as drivers, configuration, patch management, software installation;- Knowledge in server and router installation and configuration;- Knowledge of hardware assembly and ability to understand equipment specifications;- Strong knowledge of IP networking and security including firewalls, routing, security, hardening;- Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Microsoft;- Fluency in English and French is an asset but knowledge of one of the languages is a must.Tasks- Ensure compliance of all internal software licenses- Log license allocation to employees and keep track- Manage company PC, printers, peripherals and applications- Troubleshoot  issues related to the computers, applications and peripherals- Be available on-call for department managers - Manage authorization levels and privileges to server folders- Establish and manage rules and policy for employees back up- Manage internal network configurations and set up- Maintain network diagrams and internal inventory- Act as liaison and coordinate with all suppliers that affect the network - Phone system, Phone Lines,  ISPs, Network devices, Alarm Surveillance- Manage the SLAs with each supplier- Establish network control procedures and documentation- Optimize performance and security of internal networkRedundancyBack-upsRecovery - Assist R&D team with:Configuration of servers and required applicationsSpecific tests for QA when the R&D work load requires itRequired Experience:- Minimum 4 years experience in the technology field;- A completed degree in Computer Science, or Engineering;- Minimum 2 years experience as a network administrator;- Experience with script programming, including Perl and MySQL is strongly desired.
