This could include commercial off-the-shelf software, outsourced custom builds or in-house developed solutions. Primary role will be developing in Oracle Forms, reports and Developer Suite.• Manages source code, applying defined code management, configuration management and change control processes, and adheres to software development methodologies, standards, and toolsets currently in use with respect to the Otr• Develops code as it relates to enhancements and new build efforts based on system requirements specifications. Responsible for reviewing own code as part of the code review process.• Prepares required technical documentation (detailed technical design documents, unit test plans) according to established software development methodologies and standards• Participates in quality assurance activities, including preparation of test plans/cases, executing unit, system and integration testing, and documenting defects in collaboration with the project team• Provides second level production support for the existing Oracle E-Business portfolio base, liaising with business users and vendor support as required• Performs code reviews for Programmers as part of the code review process.• Competently works on all phases of application systems analysis and programming activities• Contributes to systems architecture analysis• Translates functional specifications into technical specifications• Provides leadership with respect to programming methodology and expected outcomes and ensures team adherence to established best-practice processes for application development and implementation• Leads teams to establish application development and QA standards and best practice guidelines• Partners with vendors and/or other architects to formulate and validate optimal architectural options, taking into consideration robustness, scalability and ongoing management and supportability• Defines technical architecture for new applications, and for consulting and providing recommendations for architecture decisions across the organization • Collaborates on the definition of the application and data architecture taking into account business and technical requirements, client environment, commercial tools, and program objectives and current industry enabling technologiesQualifications:• Candidates must have a degree or diploma in the field of computer science and at least five years of development experience using Oracle development tools (PL/SQL, Oracle Reports, Workflow, Discoverer) with Release 11i or 12 Financials, Projects and/or Supply Chain applications.• Excellent communication skills with ability to understand requirements and clearly articulate solution options and impacts, along with recommendations to client team members and executives.• Must work well in cross-functional teams with tight timelines and has ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment. • Ability to “think outside the box� to create innovative solutions a definite asset.
