The SAP BASIS administrator supports all SAP production support activities including but not limited to: system installation and administration, system change management, SAP security, performance tuning, transport management, data archiving, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and problem analysis.Key responsibilities:SAP system installation, day-to-day production support, troubleshooting, and resolutionSAP data archiving, backup/recovery, and business continuityPerform system copies, migrations, upgrades, transport management, and support pack and enhancement pack proceduresPerform SAP monitoring, analysis, and tuning including taking preventative action to prevent service impactsDevelop, maintain, and document standard operating procedures, including backup/recovery, system error detection procedures, database reorganization, and SAP background job schedulingManage and coordinate application issues and problems with software vendors and development partnersMaintain SAP security and user moves, adds, changesWork with ABAP developers and other support groups to resolve system issuesExecute system fixes (OSS notes and patches)Required Skills:5 years of SAP BASIS support experience in a large-sized SAP environmentExtensive experience in SAP production support on Unix and OracleStrong knowledge of SAP securityHands on experience with SAP change management processesAbility to analyze performance issues with SAP ABAP code(such as analyzing long-running SQL or reports in SAP)Knowledgeable with SAP Business Objects Data Warehouse toolExtensive BASIS skills including SAP installation, upgrade, and performance tuning skills.Experience in installing and fine-tuning the SAP environmentExperience in managing BASIS and Solution Manager projectsFour-year degree or equivalent relevant IT work experienceSAP certification(s) are a plus
