Position OverviewMicroserve's client requires a Senior Business Analyst to join its team in Edmonton.BackgroundThe Senior Business Analyst facilitates the business systems implementation within theprogram through the development of business requirements, change management processesand documentation. The Senior Business Analyst works with the IT Service Delivery team toensure the implementation of effective and efficient application systems and to understand,document and maintain Business Architecture.• Some of the responsibilities of the Senior Business Analyst are to:• Work with the business and stakeholders, elicit, validate and document businessrequirements.• Develop user communication for systems implementations.• Collect, document and analyze workflow.• Develop business process models.• Facilitate process design sessions to produce detailed process flows and associateddocumentation.• Document existing and future-state business processes.• Conduct information flow analysis and process modeling.• Analyze process gaps, information flow obstacles or system issues and identifyingopportunities for improvement.• In conjunction with the Senior Systems Analyst, translate business needs into high-level technical requirements/solutions.• Liaise between technical teams and business users.• Conduct research and analysis as required by the business.RequirementsSkills:• Demonstrates a strong technical background.• Demonstrate above-average organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.• Exercise judgement and initiative.• Able to take direction but also capable of working without supervision or direction.• Demonstrate attention to detail and quality of product and service.• Pro-active, self-directed individual who is able to work both independently and as part ofa team.• Be able to adapt to changing circumstances and manage multiple priorities.• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills• Proficiency with MS office applications• Understanding business process management and business requirements of thecustomers and translating them to specific software requirements• Documenting and analyzing the required information and data• Effectively communicating with internal teams and external clients to deliver functional requirements• Proficiency with MS office applicationsEducation and Experience:• Post-secondary education in Commerce, Information Science/Management or relateddiscipline and/or equivalent experience.• CBAP (desirable)• Minimum 5-10 years Business Analysis experience.• Experience with Business Systems Implementation is required.• Experience in the development of systems or process implementation changemanagement, documentation (manuals and training).• A minimum 2 years experience in formal methods for business analysis requirements,modeling and diagramming.• Broad industry experience in business process improvement and/or re-engineering,including business area analysis, process mapping and business process reengineering.Contact UsIf you would like to discuss this opportunity or have any questions to ask, our IT Staffing Specialists would be happy to speak with you.
