For our client we are looking for an experienced senior geological or geotechnical engineer to join their Calgary (Alberta) office. The ideal candidate will have strong academic background.Responsibilities:• Engineering Geology• Soil Mechanics• Rock Mechanics• Hydrogeology• Airphoto Interpretation an asset• Mine Tailings and Water Dam Design• Underground and Open Pit Mine Excavation Design• Pipeline Route Selection and Integrity Assessments• Project Management• Foreign Language TrainingQualifications:• Strong understanding of / geotechnical background in Tailings and Water Dam Design, Pipeline Routing and Permafrost Engineering• Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering, engineering geology and rock mechanics• 10+ years of relevant work experience• A desire to travel and work in remote conditions• Undergraduate degree in geotechnical engineering or equivalent is essential, post-graduate degree is desirable • Strong communication skills• Candidate must be registered as Professional Engineer in Alberta• Ability to manage multi-disciplined project teams working in remote, challenging environments. Arctic and tropical experience is considered an asset• Work Locations: Calgary, Alberta, with projects situated throughout the Americas, Africa, Asia and Australia• Foreign language skills, particularly Spanish, are a definite assetOur client pays competitive salaries and provides a comprehensive benefit package.
