Senior Network Engineer (SNE)Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer. The SNE will be an integral senior member of our client's networking team ultimately responsible for the design, implementation, documentation and maintenance of WAN, LAN, Load Balancing, VPN and telephony systems across multiple data centers and offices using Cisco and Linux technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical expertise around Cisco and Linux network service technologiesConfigure, implement and troubleshoot a variety of Ethernet-based network services including Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers and VPN devicesProactively manage the service and security requirements of all network systemsResponsible for approving and overseeing all changes on core network equipmentAssist in deployment, incident and problem management related to internal and client environments as requiredThird-Level Help Desk ticket resolutionPerform advanced monitoring and reporting related to network systemsCreate and maintain comprehensive documentation network services, procedures and policies relating to network servicesWork as a team member with other technical staff to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systemsWork with vendors to resolve complex network problemsDocument network problems and resolutions for future referenceWork within ITIL framework to deliver servicesBe aware of the company's policy on information security and take actions from time to time as required under the terms of the company's Information Security Management System (ISMS)Qualifications/SkillsBachelors Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent industry experienceA minimum of 5 years experience with Enterprise routing and switching in a customer oriented environmentExcellent knowledge of network protocols and services in a multi vendor environmentAn expert knowledge of network routing fundamentals and troubleshooting techniques is essentialA thorough understanding of ITIL and change management processesStrong verbal and written communication skillsAn ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and growing IT environment and the flexibility to work with a wide range of technologiesAn ability to communicate effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutionsA demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in a high paced work environmentA demonstrated ability to work proactively within a team environment, utilizing excellent problem management and change management skillsA willingness to learn new technologies and maintain good industry knowledgePreferred CertificationsCCN/CCDP and/or ITIL Practitioner certifications
