Senior PL/SQL Database DeveloperLocation: Taylor TexasEstimated Term: 1048 HoursSummary of Responsibilities Provide hands-on technical leadership for the Data Archive/Data Warehouse Group. Key responsibilities cover all tiers of the Enterprise Data Warehouse infrastructure including but not limited to design and development of database models, database replication, integration, web enabled applications, data extraction and delivery methods, reporting foundations, and data presentation. Essential Job Functions: Responsible for technical leadership and mentoring within a small to mid-sized team, tasked with design, development, and implementation of an enterprise business intelligence solution Design and implement data quality and data auditing processes Assist in defining the overall technical goals of the data warehousing team Maintain and enhance an integrated metadata environment consisting of both operational and business metadata and ensure the quality and integrity of the data Provide code statistics, development metrics (i.e. development cycle time), and assist in the implementation and maintenance of a standardized development methodology Interface with key groups in the company to ensure quality product delivery (Management, Data Architects, Application Architects, and other development groups, business end users, and external users as appropriate) Identify opportunities to optimize performance of existing data structures Possess and maintain technical proficiency in the following key technical areas: Oracle Enterprise Database, PL/SQL, PL/SQL and SQL Tuning, Oracle Development Toolsets (TOAD, PL/SQL Developer, etc.), Multithreading Techniques, Parallel Query, and Java Serve as level 3 production support when needed Additional proficiencies in the following technical areas are a plus: Java (J2EE), SOAP, JSP, JMS, SAX, XML, XSL, XSLT, XHTML, Application Servers, and Apache Stay appraised of emerging technologies with ability to use them Perform other duties as required Experience and Educational Requirements B.S. in Management Information Systems or Computer Science (4 year degree - MS preferred). An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered. Familiarity with both Kimball and Inmon methodologies and concepts for business intelligence and data warehousing 5+ years experience in database applications and supporting technologies 5+ years in ETL design and implementation using custom and off-the-self tools (i.e. PL/SQL and Informatica) 5+ years of a strong basic technical background based in Information Technology (IT) organizations. 5+ years working with enterprise/conformed data warehouse implementations 3+ years experience with multi-terabyte databases and associated structures 3+ years experience with delivery utilizing business intelligence toolsets (i.e. Cognos, or Business Objects) 3+ year direct, hands-on experience with Java preferred 2+ years experience with XML, XSL, and XSLT 1+ years in a leadership or senior level position mentoring Jr. - Sr. level developers Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Ability to communicate to executive level management Experience working with formal methodologies and software development lifecycle processes Experience in both a UNIX and Windows based environment Energy industry experience or financial / telecommunications background preferr
