For our client, a Vancouver-based high-tech company developing innovative products for Wireless Network Operators and Network Equipment Manufacturers, we are looking for a Senior Software Team Lead. Our client creates complex real-world 3G/4G wireless communication environments, enabling their customers to simulate thousand of mobiles in their labs. Our client is currently looking for an experienced Team Leader to build out their UMTS product development team. The Team Lead will plan and execute software development activities from analysis of customer requirements through implementation, customer delivery and acceptance. Responsibility • Collaborate with product marketing to define a product roadmap and release plans in line with customer needs • Provide detailed analysis, design, work breakdown and schedules • Aligns the team by communicating a clear vision for the design and delivery plan • Provides hands on expert technical leadership to a development team of up to ten engineers • Identifies resources required and assigns individual responsibilities, coordinates software design, development, and testing activities. • Ensures a solid architecture and infrastructure are in place to support the requirements • Manages risk, clearing roadblocks and building contingency plans when necessary • Tracks progress to plan, taking corrective action as required • Builds quality in by ensuring good development practice is followed • Builds motivated high performance team with timely coaching, mentoring and performance feedback • Responsible for leading all aspects of the software lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, peer review, testing, integration, troubleshooting • Communicate with internal and external customers to define requirements and manage beta testing and integration Qualifications • Proven track record in leading the development of commercially successful networking products • Experience in leading a team of 10+ engineers, creating project plans and delivering against commitments with minimal supervision • Knowledge of 3G/4G wireless networking standards and protocols • Minimum of 6 years experience leading teams developing real-time embedded software for wireless products • Strong knowledge in C++/object-oriented software programming in a UNIX/Linux and multiprocessor DSP environment • TI DSP (C64XX) experience an asset
