Much of the existing development environment is Microsoft-oriented (.NET 3.5/4.0, C#, MSMQ, SQL Server, WCF), but includes a rapidly increasing mix of other technologies (Linux, Java, embedded systems). Work with a product in a fast track to market, including mechanical handling, sensors, machine vision, VoIP, web portals, user interactions, inventory systems and database reporting. Software must be designed and implemented to operate in a highly distributed, highly dependable and secure networked environment.This position has a focus on software that runs at the device level and may include robotic control, voice and video over IP and advanced interaction with devices, such as scanners, cameras and payment devices. Software may run on PCs or in mobile devices and may include interaction with firmware on microcontrollers.Skills Required•Degree in computer science, computer engineering or related discipline from an accredited educational institution.•Minimum two years of relevant experience.•Solid understanding of multi-threaded control applications.•Experience with C#, Java, C, or C++ on Windows, Linux, and mobile operating systems (Android, iPhone).•Effective verbal and written communications, with an ability to effectively convey information, concepts and ideas to others.•Ability to work effectively inside a multidisciplinary team environment.•Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work activities to completion, while meeting or exceeding deadlines.•Ability to effectively navigate dynamic requirements and priorities.•Strong organization skills, dependability, pro-active, self-motivated and goal-oriented, with attention to detail.Assets•Familiarity with microcontrollers, such as ARM, FreeScale, or other embedded environments, RTOS.•Experience with motion-control systems, Digital I/Os, protocols. including RS-232 and RS-485, IP stacks.•Exposure to VoIP and video-conferencing software development including the SIP protocol.•Exposure to enterprise-level software development, including security and scalability aspects.•Understanding of SOA architecture, WS-I standards and Enterprise Service Buses.•Experience with relational databases and SQL.•Exposure to .NET 3.5/4.0, MSMQ, MS-SQL 2008.•Familiarity with the pharmaceutical and health industries, including regulatory requirements.
