Avaya's Small Medium Enterprise Communications (SMEC) R&D team in Ottawa is seeking a highly motivated Software Designer/Software Engineer II. We are growing our software team to accelerate the delivery of our next generation communications products. We are looking for exceptional individuals with strong programming and design skills to help us accelerate these programs.You will be part of a world class R&D team charged with delivering Avaya's next generation Unified Communications products in the growing small and medium business arena.This specific opportunity is to join the SIP Trunking team for the IP Office product. The successful candidate will: - Ramp to become an expert on SIP and SIP trunking in general and its implementation on IP Office- Specify, design, implement and test features and enhancements to the existing IP Office SIP Trunking capability- Conduct and Support Interoperability testing with lead Internet Telephony Service Providers (such as Skype) as well as interoperability testing with other Avaya SIP based products, including the creation of supporting configuration guides- Debug issues and deliver fixes to System Verification, Trials and Customer raised issues- Interact with a global multisite development and business teamIf you are a high energy individual, eager to make a positive impact in communications systems for the Small and Medium Enterprise and are looking for place in a dynamic team, please submit your qualifications.The successful candidate will have some or all of the following qualifications:- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science- Proven expertise in software design- Working knowledge of IP networking fundamentals
