Position OverviewMicroserve's client requires an Intermediate to Senior Test Analyst to join its team in Edmonton.RequirementsMandatory • Related degree or diploma • a minimum of 4 years of experience developing test cases/scenarios and test automation • well versed in all testing methodologies (white box testing, black box testing, system testing integration testing, performance testing, UAT, and regression testing • experience writing test strategies, test plans, test scripts, and documenting test results • experience with Oracle and MS SQL Server database environments• experience writing complex SQL queries for a relational database • proven ability to communicate effectively• proven ability to work individually or in a team environment The Services to be provided by the Test Analysts may include any or all of the following activities:• Analyze system design and develop and execute test plans, test strategies, and schedules • interact with different business areas to understand the business applications, and to develop reusable test scripts • write reusable SQL scripts for test data set up and data validation • develop automated tools/utilities to perform testing • automate regression test cases using automated tools • perform ad-hoc testing for projects or production fixes • compile test results and write test reports • log and track defects using defect management tools • provide status reports on the progress of assigned tasks • create training material for any automated tools/utilities developed • work closely with stakeholders and team members to facilitate the successful completion of initiatives • identify and proactively communicate technical problems, processes, and solutionsDesirable Requirements• Experience working on enterprise investment systems (Calypso, EAGLE, Sylvan, SimCorp Dimension, Charles River Trading System, or LMS ); • experience in developing PL/SQL scripts; • demonstrated understanding of how to leverage test automation for non-GUI based verification and system manipulation; • hands-on project experience with automated test design and scripting with at least one test automation suite (preferably QTP) and test management toolset (preferably HP QC) on an enterprise-level application development project; • experience with at least one software scripting language such as Python, VBScript, Perl, Ruby, etc; • previous development experience; and • experience with web service testing an asset.
