This position involves the design, validation, and implementation of interactive (natural) speech interfaces, in addition to multimedia and traditional user experiences (visual, online, and voice-driven). While working with a small and diverse team, the candidate will be responsible for high quality user interactions, including the design and execution of usability studies to validate early concepts and to quickly test hypotheses. New user interfaces may include developing dialogue systems, creating speech preprocessing rules, tuning text-to-speech solutions, developing grammars, syntax, and semantic rules, and applying appropriate tests throughout. Experiences may also include visual interactions (web), mobile phone, or desktop. Independent, self-driven development is essential, in addition to the ability to interact well in a team environment to transfer knowledge and participate in peer reviews.
