Your role is varied, collaborative and creative, and you'll be an integral member of the Web Application Design and Development team. From collaborating with designers to translate their concepts into web pages/flash banners, to participating in the design and development of marketing campaigns, to maintaining our corporate websites, you will need creativity and dedication to excellence in all areas of your job.NOTE: an online portfolio is required in order to be considered for this position.Job Responsibilities A· Collaborate with copywriters and Marketing to develop unique concepts for campaignsA· Collaborate with user interface designers and .NET developers to explore technical approaches to business development projectsA· Develop standards-compliant web pages using: HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX and jQueryA· Develop HTML emails with an emphasis on email client compatibilityA· Develop original and creative Flash animations and banner adsA· Design graphics that are consistent with the Questrade brandA· Maintain several corporate websitesA· Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of code standardsA· Proactively report to team leads on task status and potential issuesQualifications A· Can demonstrate - through web portfolio and coding examples - standards-compliant HTML, CSS and jQueryA· Can demonstrate - through web portfolio - Flash animation and/or development experienceA· Able to develop web interfaces and front-end functionality based on PSDs, storyboards and/or documentationA· Knowledge of key applications: Adobe CS5 product suite, Adobe After Effects, MS Visual Studio 2008/2010A· Experience with version control (e.g. Subversion) and issue tracking (e.g. JIRA) is an assetA· Experience with developing apps for social media sites (Facebook, Twitter) is an assetA· Undergraduate Degree, Community College Diploma or Post-Graduate diploma with related areas of studyA· Minimum three years experienceAttributes A· Pays close attention to detail and has high quality standardsA· Takes ownership of tasks and drives projects through to completionA· Strong ability to multi-task and take on varied responsibilitiesA· Good judgment to proactively and independently solve problems and make decisionsA· Thrives in a changing, dynamic environmentA· Possesses highly developed communication, presentation and written skillsA· Loves to learn and incorporate the latest technologies, design standards into their workA· Has a strong work ethic, positive energy and has the ability to energize othersA· Able to work flexible hours when requestedA· Has a strong commitment to upgrading technical skills on an ongoing basis Notes This positions reports to the Presentation Layer Team Lead of the Web Applications Design and Development Team, and is a full-time permanent position.We thank all candidates for their interest in working at Questrade.
